A Bit More About Me...
First Of All - I Love What I Do.
I love partnering with business owners / managers and teaching them how to lead better. I get immense satisfaction from helping clients' businesses to become stronger, more profitable, and less complicated.
Perhaps most of all, I love it when strengthening the business has a flow-on effect at home - less financial pressure, more reclaimed time, and a better quality of life for my clients and their families.
This is incredibly rewarding for me.
In My Personal Life
I live in Brisbane with my wife, Rebecca. We’ve been together since the mid-90s - which feels both like yesterday and a lifetime ago! Our two precious daughters, Sophia and Imogen, have grown up now and are just starting out on their own journeys.
Most weeks, you’ll find me doing the simple stuff that keeps me healthy - both physically and mentally.
I am an addicted Parkrun participant (over 450 runs and counting), and I enjoy doing daily and varied classes at our gym.
I meet my mates for a weekly surf and coffee, and I paddleboard when I can. As a family, we bushwalk together regularly.
So to sum it up...
I basically enjoy anything that involves good people and fresh air. And, I'm especially a big fan of routines that don’t require a personality transplant to maintain.
What am I like As A Strategic Partner?
When we met in real life, you’d probably notice a handful of things pretty quickly:
-
I’m genuine, easy to talk to… and I don’t waste your time.
-
I like people, I like clarity, and I’ve got a low tolerance for drama masquerading as “important conversation.”
-
I’m calm when the room isn’t. If things feel tense or complicated, I don’t rush to smooth it over - I slow it down and help people say what they mean.
-
I’m direct, but never disrespectful. I’ll name what I see, ask the question that needs asking, and keep it kind.
-
I’m practical to the bone. If it can’t be used, it doesn’t belong. I’m not interested in “great conversations” that go nowhere.
-
I’ll help you say the thing. The hard message, the clearer expectation, the honest boundary - without lighting anything on fire.
-
I don’t need to be right. I care about what’s true, what’s useful, and what actually changes.
I genuinely enjoy working with people who care.
Things I believe (that shape how I show up)
I have a few simple beliefs that I take seriously:
-
Clarity is generous. It’s kinder than ambiguity, even if it’s a little uncomfortable at first.
-
Consistency beats intensity. Most progress comes from doing the basics well, repeatedly.
-
Healthy teams don’t avoid tension - they handle it early. The longer things sit unspoken, the more expensive they become.
-
People usually know what to do. They just need help cutting through noise, fear, or overthinking.
-
Work should support a good life. Not just a busy one. If the business “wins” and the person loses, something’s off.

The Types of Leaders I Partner With:
Most of the people I work with have already built something solid:
The business works.
The team is capable.
There’s momentum.
But leadership has become harder than it used to be.
Decisions take longer than they should.
Execution becomes inconsistent.
The owner ends up carrying more of the thinking than they expected.
Nothing is broken.
Things just aren’t simple anymore.
How I Think About Leadership
In my experience, strong leadership usually comes down to a few fundamentals:
-
Clarity about what matters most.
-
Ownership of decisions.
-
Standards that are held consistently.
-
The leaders who navigate growth well tend to share similar habits.
-
They care deeply about the work and the people around them.
-
They make courageous decisions even when those decisions feel uncomfortable.
-
They stay committed to the bigger picture.
-
And they build systems that allow those behaviours to happen consistently.
-
My job is helping leaders strengthen those habits in the real context of their business.
